Stratford Shakespeare Festival, North America’s pre-eminent repertory theatre company, was at a crossroads in 2007. Having just secured Canada’s largest endowment for the arts, they could have opted to delay any future planning. GG+A conducted a thorough review of Stratford’s advancement strengths and challenges. Consultants interviewed nearly 40 members of the organization, including several Board of Governors, the Advancement staff, and senior managers. From planned giving to ticket sales to staff organizational structure, GG+A probed every area of advancement to understand where opportunities for greater success might be found. The interview results informed GG+A’s recommendations that would enable Stratford to maximize its future fundraising potential.

They have separated the membership development and ticket sales aspects of their organization, and have made their major gifts officers more proactive year round.
