St. Cloud State University
St. Cloud State University enjoys a close relationship with the community of St. Cloud, Minnesota. For 140 years the University, which is located in the heart of St. Cloud, has given local families employment and educational opportunities, and in turn the community has supported the University as it has changed and expanded over the years.
The University turned to Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) to gauge whether the community would support the University's plans to renovate and add to an existing building to create a new hockey and events center.
University Campaign Feasibility Study and Planning
GG+A conducted a feasibility study to assess the St. Cloud community's general perception of the University, its leadership, and its willingness to support the project. GG+A philanthropic management consultants met and interviewed a number of potential donors, and presented the subsequent findings to University leadership.
The study revealed positive views of the University and its new president, as well as a strong indicator that the community would again lend its support and financial backing to the new center.
Through the interviews, GG+A found community members saw the ways the facility would serve the entire community, through acting as a forum for concerts and other events, was important to the cultural development of St. Cloud. GG+A consultants also learned many citizens were dedicated fans of St. Cloud's Division I hockey team who would favorably regard building a new home for the St. Cloud Huskies.
The results of GG+A's campaign feasibility report helped St. Cloud decide to move forward with their plans for the new center. A target date of spring 2011 has been set to begin construction.
