Mayo Clinic
Mayo Clinic launched its first comprehensive fundraising campaign in January 2005 with an announced goal of $1.25 billion. In 2009, when The Campaign for Mayo Clinic concluded, Mayo had raised $1.35 billion, exceeding its ambitious goal. Building on a long-standing tradition of generosity and philanthropy, The Campaign for Mayo Clinic drew support from 286,000 world-wide benefactors, including patients and their families, alumni, employees, foundations, corporations, and the general public.
An Evidence-based Fundraising Program
Grenzebach Glier and Associates first partnered with Mayo Clinic in 1995 to create a campaign case statement for the Campaign for Mayo Hospital-Arizona. In 2002, we were honored once again to be engaged as counsel to Mayo Clinic. Since that time, we have partnered with Mayo to provide both broad and deep consulting services, including a comprehensive review of the development department to align and deploy fundraising resources with institutional priorities during a time of significant and rapid staff growth. We assisted with the development of a full campaign plan to guide the five-year goal of doubling private gift support; created a draft case for support; provided staff training and workshops; helped design campaign volunteer structures; recommended effective campaign communications; and provided specialized counsel for annual, major, and corporate giving, and information technology systems.
We are grateful for our long-standing partnership with Mayo Clinic, one of the most effective, evidence-based fundraising programs in the county, and we congratulate all of those involved in assuring resounding campaign success.
