Jane Hayden has spent more than 25 years serving nonprofits across the globe, including major research universities, small colleges, medical centers and performing arts institutions. Since joining GG+A in 2005, she has worked with clients in Australia, Canada and the United States on many fundraising initiatives. Her areas of expertise encompass advancement management, major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, development communications, annual giving and strategic planning.

Jane came to GG+A from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, where she was the pro-vice-chancellor for university advancement and chief executive officer of the UNSW Foundation. There, she transformed UNSW’s nascent advancement program into a successful model for Australian higher education fundraising. Her responsibilities included oversight of all corporate marketing and development, fundraising, alumni relations, communications, donor events, advancement and information technology and services.

Jane pioneered UNSW’s linking of institutional goals and priorities with advancement strategic and operational planning. She established an AUS $125 million three- to five-year pipeline of major donor prospects, which led to commitments of $17 million in the first year. Additionally, she oversaw strategies to engage the university’s widespread alumni base, which extended across New Zealand and southeast Asia.

Prior to joining UNSW, she served as senior associate vice president and director of development for Brown University. She has also served as assistant dean for development and alumni relations for the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and as executive director of individual giving at the Colorado School of Mines, after serving in numerous positions throughout the School’s major capital campaign.

Jane holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and religion from the University of Southern California.

– The Sydney Opera House, assistance in the Opera House’s groundbreaking work to establish a fundraising operation, including plans for a leadership annual giving program and a major campaign in 2008

– University of California, San Diego, guidance in designing organizational strategies and tactics for post-campaign growth following the successful $1 billion Imagine What’s Next, the University’s first-ever comprehensive campaign; oversight for campaign planning for UCSD Health Sciences

– Mayo Clinic, detailed campaign planning for the Clinic's $1.25 billion campaign, including re-designing development operations to more fully support front-line fundraising

– The California Institute of the Arts, ongoing campaign counsel for a $125 million campaign which exceeded the goal one year ahead of schedule

– City of Hope, strategic campaign readiness assessment of the organization’s Industry Relations program

– The Ohio State University, campaign readiness counsel and assistance in a major revision of the university’s leadership annual giving recognition program

– Marymount College, development of an institutional plan to significantly grow private support for the College
