UCLA School of Law Receives $20 Million Gift to Advance Human Rights Education and Advocacy

The $20 million gift will launch the Promise Institute for Human Rights at the UCLA School of Law. The Promise Institute’s mission will be to, “train the next generation of human rights leaders and develop strategies to address crises around the globe.” The gift is largely thanks to earnings from the 2016 film, “The Promise,” the plot of which highlights human rights abuses of the Armenian people during the first World War.
