Debbie brings to the firm more than 22 years of professional experience in information technology, systems development, and advancement services administration.
She is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA). She has served as a representative to the Product Advisory Group, Advance System, SunGard Higher Education Advancement Solutions, and as the Advance User Group conference coordinator.
Recent Accomplishments
Selected GG+A client work includes:
- Service as an interim CIO for a large public university, management of a system upgrade and the design and deployment of a reporting application that provided a suite of campaign progress reports
- Counsel to streamline the gift processing workflow and stewardship practices for a large teaching hospital
- Development of an implementation plan using DonorScape® wealth screening to cultivate new major gift prospects, while strengthening annual giving and planned giving programs, for a university specializing in healthcare
- Management of several projects involving the redesign of gift and prospect management systems infrastructure to produce performance reports tied to goals and performance metrics
- Business process reviews to recommended steps to improve workflow and the automation of processes
- Working knowledge of most major alumni/donor systems
Career Snapshot
Debbie most recently served as Director of Information Strategy for the Office of Development at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In this role, she led a large-scale client/server system implementation, managed the development of system specifications, quality assurance testing, system deployment, system support, and documentation. She managed the selection of a third-party vendor solution, the contract negotiation process, and the conversion and implementation of a departmental computing application in a distributed environment. She also defined, developed, and implemented a reporting structure and solution to meet business requirements. The deployment of this application provided fundraisers with real-time access to prospect information, increased the productivity of the gift and records processing units, and provided management reporting on activity and progress at multiple levels of the operations.
Debbie's background includes demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of IT solutions that enhance organizational productivity and profitability, along with proven skills in process reengineering, system integration, and technical development. She is accomplished in organizing cross-functional work groups, especially for the purpose of identifying issues, formulating alternatives, creating project plans, and ensuring timely project completion.
She is also experienced in data analysis, data mining, donor profiling, and resource management, including the design of a donor development cycle, which pushes new prospect information out to the appropriate areas at strategic intervals to trigger cultivation and stewardship activity of a departmental computing application in a distributed environment. She defined, developed, and implemented a reporting structure and solution to meet business requirements. Areas addressed by the deployment of this application included user-based security, system response time, and customer comfort levels.
