Consulting Associate

Farah Salim joined Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) in January 2012 as a Consulting Associate.  In her role as Consulting Associate at GG+A, Farah Salim is able to apply her broad multicultural knowledge, marketing expertise, development leadership experience, and global understanding to benefit the growth of non-profit organizations.  With more than nine years of experience developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising and communications strategies, Farah works to assist both large non-profit organizations and small shops to effectively manage and actualize their philanthropic goals.   With proven success identifying alternative solutions to problems and effectively positioning resources to create multifaceted development programs, Farah has helped a variety of mission-driven non-profit organizations within the youth, environment, healthcare, wellness, and education sectors. 

Recent Accomplishments

Prior to joining GG+A, Farah served as the Executive Director for the Kidzeum of Health and Science, an emerging children’s museum in Springfield, Illinois.  In addition, Farah owned and served as a consultant for Emphasis, a fundraising and marketing consulting firm, providing counsel for non-profit organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois and Prevent Child Abuse Illinois.  She also worked with the Junior League of Springfield, the campaign to re-elect Secretary of State Jesse White, Horace Mann Companies, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois.  Farah has also held positions with The Autism Program of Illinois, Children’s Miracle Network at St. John’s Children’s Hospital, Squires Advertising Agency, and Robert Morris University in Springfield as an adjunct faculty member.

Upon moving to Chicago in 2012, Farah continued her lifelong commitment to community by becoming involved with the Junior League of Chicago, Association of Fundraising Professionals, United Nations Association – Chicago Chapter, UNICEF, Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and WorldChicago.

Career Snapshot

Farah earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Bradley University, a master’s degree in communications and a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and is a Certified Communications Professional (CCP).  She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in international relations and conflict resolution from American Public University.
