Jodie Lawton joined GG+A's Consulting Resources team in 2011 as Director, Project Management. Jodie collaborates with the firm's consultant teams and oversees GG+A's internal project production team. She is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of GG+A's client projects, ensuring consistency with company policy and procedures, commitments, and goals.
Recent Accomplishments
Jodie's career has included a variety of nonprofits in areas including youth development, HIV prevention education, child abuse prevention, early childhood education, and voluntary health. Prior to joining GG+A, she was the Division Vice President for the American Liver Foundation’s Great Lakes Division, where she focused on volunteer leadership, staff management, and strategic planning and oversight for events and programs. She and a colleague presented best practices in working with volunteer leaders at the American Liver Foundation's National Leadership Conference, and she provided Board development templates to other Division Vice Presidents.
Career Snapshot
Previously, Jodie worked for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Illinois Chapter as the Campaign Director for the Light The Night Walk, where she and her team focused on developing streamlined processes. She solicited corporate sponsorships, developed relationships with in-kind sponsors, and formed a Corporate Leadership Committee to engage Chicagoland business leaders in supporting Light The Night. As a member of the High Achieving Chapters Committee, she worked with peers to develop national best practices and facilitate the sharing of information. Later, Jodie became the Senior Director for Mission Support, where, as part of the senior management team, she and her colleagues restructured the chapter to make it function more efficiently.
Earlier in her career, Jodie worked with Illinois Action for Children, where she served as a liaison to social service agencies using the RealBenefits online portal and contributed to the development of a Pre-K Linkage program to better prepare preschool-aged children for school. Throughout her time at Illinois Action for Children, Jodie was involved in building relationships with sponsors, writing grant proposals, and reporting on progress to funders, and expanding the Pre-K Linkage program to new communities.
Jodie holds a bachelor's degree in human development and social relations from Kalamazoo College and a master's degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis.
