Recent Accomplishments
Prior to joining the firm, Joe held senior development operations and campaign management positions with Cleveland Clinic, including most recently service as Senior Director, Development Administration and Associate Chairman, Campaign Operations. With Cleveland Clinic, Joe was responsible for the operational management of the first comprehensive philanthropic campaign in the Clinic’s history, which surpassed its $1.25 billion goal. Joe supervised a staff of 26, overseeing the full range of development services functions, including prospect identification and research, gift administration, annual giving, programming, events, stewardship, and communications.
Career Snapshot
Joe previously served as Associate Vice President, Information Services, with Case Western Reserve University, where he directed all advancement services functions and managed the University’s annual giving program. During his tenure with Case Western, Joe developed procedures to assist in identifying candidates for volunteer governance and fundraising roles, leading to improved philanthropic capacity, expertise, and giving from key leadership volunteers. He further enhanced the analysis and prioritization of major gift prospects.
Joe joined Case Western from the University of California, Davis, where he was most recently Associate Director, Advancement Services, managing all computing infrastructure supporting fundraising activities at the University, including the gift administration system. Joe also worked at University of California, San Diego, where as Manager of Application Development, University Relations, he led the selection and implementation of the Millennium alumni and donor database.
Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and applied mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.
