Darryl Brown came to GG+A in 2007 where he provides clients with nearly three decades of experience in fundraising and consulting for diverse nonprofit institutions. His background includes a track record of success in strategizing and managing major capital campaigns, as well as extensive experience in nonprofit management at the regional, national and international levels.
Previously, Darryl was president of Oxford University Development North America, Inc., spearheading Oxford’s fundraising programs in the United States and Canada as part of its successful $500 million global campaign. In this role, he acted as a liaison between the Oxford academic community and North American constituencies. His accomplishments include building its prospect base outside the alumni network, establishing a corporate and foundation outreach program, enlisting the first CEO-level volunteer committee to solicit major gifts from multi-national corporations, and promoting sponsored research and grants to Oxford.
In recent years, as an independent consultant, Darryl provided counsel to clients in the healthcare and educational sectors. He also served as the vice president and director of development for the National Audubon Society, which realized a 50 percent increase in Board giving and a 17 percent increase in overall giving during his two-year tenure.
Darryl also has served at New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he helped to secure a $30 million naming gift as part of a $100 million capital campaign and guided the School’s 50 percent increase in annual alumni giving while establishing a corporate annual fund. He has also held development positions at The Museum of Modern Art and was a program officer at the National Endowment for the Arts.
Darryl received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
