Kathryn Nelson joined Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) as Vice President and Managing Director in 2009. In this role Kathy will focus on the firm's higher education clients in the western region of the US as well as GG+A initiatives in Asia Pacific.

Kathy spent more than 15 years with the University of Hawaii. During her time at the University, she held various positions, including Director of Development for the College of Business Administration, Director of Annual Giving, and Director of Development for University Health Sciences. Kathy most recently served as Vice President for Development for the University's Foundation. In that role she was responsible for creating a central development operation for the UH Manoa campus, implementing a $250 million campaign, and leading all aspects of the development process, including annual giving, estate planning, development operations, and research.

Kathy also served as Executive Director of Development for Kapi'olani Health Foundation. While there she began a major gifts program which resulted in a significant increase in gifts of more than $50,000. She also worked with physicians and hospital administration to articulate funding priorities and identify prospects and oversaw planning for a development audit and feasibility study.

Earlier in her career, Kathy spent more than ten years with the University of Southern California, working first as a project manager and systems analyst. These experiences culminated in her roles as Director of Corporate Relations and Director of Development. As Director of Development, Kathy built strategies and helped close major individual and corporate solicitations, as well as trained and staffed volunteer committees.

Kathy holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from University of La Verne.
