Adrienne A. Rulnick, EdD, Consulting Vice President, joined GG+A in 2014, bringing to the firm more than 20 years of experience in alumni relations, outreach, and engagement.
Adrienne most recently served as the Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations and Development for The George Washington University before transitioning out of her full-time career. As part of the Development and Alumni Relations Senior Leadership Team, she was responsible for managing all alumni outreach and philanthropy for the University and Medical Center as well as managing an over $4 million budget and team of 33 staff members, representing alumni relations to the University at large, and staffing the President and Executive Board of the GW Alumni Association. During her time at The George Washington University, she initiated a highly successful Women and Philanthropy Forum. Now in its sixth year, the Forum showcases the experience of women philanthropists, engaging women trustees and trustee spouses along with women on the university leadership team. She also increased engagement of alumni regionally from 8 locations to 33, developed international programming that supports 26 alumni networks in 23 countries, and built an alumni strategic marketing and communications team to deliver a robust suite of print, digital, and social media communication and engagement. After announcing her retirement, Adrienne served as a Special Project Manager for The George Washington University to lead the President’s Medal ceremony posthumously honoring Carl Lutz, ’24, Swiss Consul in Budapest.
Prior to her time at The George Washington University, Adrienne held the Executive Director of University Alumni Relations and Development position at New York University, where she directed three teams of staff, including University Alumni Relations, The Fund for NYU, and the Alumni, Annual Fund, Regional, and Parent (AARP) fundraising group. She was also responsible for staffing the President and Executive Board of the NYU Alumni Association Board of Directors, Trustee Committee on Alumni Affairs and University Life, and the NYU Parents Committee; serving on the senior staff of the Senior Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations; and increasing the university annual fund from $8 to $20 million. Previously, she served as Senior Associate Director of University Development, Director of University Alumni Relations, and Director of Alumni Relations for Arts & Sciences at NYU.
Adrienne has also held the Director of Alumni Relations position at Adelphi University and the Acting Director of Alumnae Affairs and Administrative Assistant, Alumnae Affairs positions at Barnard College. She has served as an Executive Committee Member for the Association of Private College and University Alumni Directors and has been a member of many CASE committees.
Adrienne holds a Bachelor in Arts from Barnard College, a Master of Science from the University at Albany, and a Doctor of Education from the University of Massachusetts. Adrienne also holds a certificate in the Management of Lifelong Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is an active volunteer for her alma mater, serving as class co-vice president and on the reunion committee of the Barnard Alumnae Association.
