Angela L. Young, Vice President, has over 20 years of nonprofit and development experience with both private universities and academic medical centers.
Across a variety of institutional leadership roles, Angela built high-performance major gift teams, recruited and staffed several volunteer advisory boards, staffed institutional chief executives, and served as a Major Gift Officer for a wide range of prospect communities, including alumni and grateful patients.
Prior to joining GG+A, Angela served as Executive Director of Development at Rice University. In this position, she was a member of the Strategic Leadership Team for Rice's successful $1 billion Centennial Campaign, was a co-leader of the resource development's major gifts program, and led fundraising programs for the George R. Brown School of Engineering. During her time at Rice, she was also the regional director for the West Coast and temporarily oversaw fundraising in athletics.
Prior to her time at Rice, Angela was a Director of Development for Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. There, she was responsible for donor portfolio management, stewardship of current and past donors, and strategic prospect research among donors and grateful patients. While at BCM, she served as the development liaison between the Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neuroscience departments.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and a Master of Liberal Arts from the University of St. Thomas. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. In addition to serving on multiple community nonprofit boards, Angela was President for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Houston Chapter in 2014.
