Grant Forssberg, Knowledge Manager, joined GG+A in January 2015 to organize, maintain and distribute the firm’s archive of information resources and intellectual property. He also provides research support to internal and external clients.
Trained as an academic historian, Grant has an eclectic background in education, non-profits, and policy. Most recently, he worked as a political consultant with KNI Communications, which provides communications strategy for Chicago-area political campaigns. He also served for two years as a Teaching with Technology Graduate Assistant in the History Department at the University of Nebraska. In this position, he supported the department’s more than 40 faculty members in integrating technology into the undergraduate curriculum, lectured on information resources and research best practices, and helped develop the department’s web presence.
Grant also served as an intern with the Chicago community organization Action Now. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Knox College, and will receive a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of Nebraska (pending thesis). A policy wonk and civic data fan, Grant spends his spare time developing web apps, fiddling around with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and data visualization tools, and woodworking at a maker space in Bridgeport.
