Laura Wood Cantopher, Consulting Vice President, joined Grenzebach Glier and Associates (GG+A) in 2011, and brings to clients more than 30 years of experience in business development and marketing in the nonprofit and private sectors, and more recent experience in fundraising, alumni relations, and campaign management.
Prior to joining GG+A, Laura was Head of Campaign Management with King’s College London. There, Laura was responsible for planning and executing, from concept to completion, the November 2010 global launch of the World Questions | King’s Answers fundraising campaign with a goal of £500 million. She was also responsible for the tracking and reporting of gifts, including major and principal gifts, and for articulating campaign priorities and academic specialties so that they would resonate with and appeal to a wide variety of constituencies.
Prior to her role with King’s College London, Laura served from 2006 until 2008 in a variety of fundraising and management roles with Royal Holloway, University of London, and most recently as Interim Head of External Relations. Previously, she was Interim Executive Director, Alumnae Association, with Wellesley College where she currently serves in a volunteer capacity as a Class Annual Giving Representative.
Laura began her career in institutional advancement after serving in senior management, marketing, and editorial roles with Holt, Rinehart & Winston; Scholastic, Inc.; Klutz Press; Macmillan; and Houghton Mifflin.
As an active volunteer with Wellesley College, in addition to her current volunteer role, Laura has served as Co-Chair, Special Gifts Committee, for her class’s 25th reunion; as a member of the Special Gifts Committee for her class’s 20th reunion; and on the Alumnae Association Board as Chair for Classes and Reunions.
Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Wellesley College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
During her tenure at GG+A, Laura has provided counsel to Beatson Oncology Centre and Friends of the Beatson, University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Health Partners, University of Southampton, Oxford Brookes, and Durham University. She also serves as a mentor to new GG+A consultants in North America and the UK.
