Maureen E. Scherrer serves as a Consulting Associate in our higher education practice area.
Most recently, Maureen served for four years as Associate Director of Strategic Development and Partnerships for BoardSource, which focuses on improving nonprofit effectiveness through strengthening board leadership practices. While there, Maureen directed the organization’s fundraising and funder relationship efforts, which included developing an institutional donor outreach strategy, managing a $1.3 million annual budget, monitoring metrics and monthly projections, and ensuring the alignment of fundraising and consultative sales strategies. She was also responsible for securing annual revenue of $900,000 through a combination of consultative sales and philanthropic strategies.
Previously, Maureen spent two years as a Development Specialist for the American Academy of Physician Assistants in Alexandria, Virginia, where she participated in a variety of fundraising activities to advance the mission of the Academy.
Earlier in her career, Maureen was an Account Representative for Chapman Cubine Adams + Hussey, a direct marketing firm, and for nearly three years served as Electoral & Program Coordinator for the Republican Majority for Choice, a political action committee in Washington, DC. Maureen was also Deputy Finance Director of the 2008 campaign of former US Senator Gordon Smith of Oregon.
Maureen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from James Madison University. She is currently a member of the Advocacy Committee of the Junior League of Chicago.
