Biography

Sara Swain, Project Manager, joined GG+A in April 2016 to provide support to the firm’s Education practice area. She brings to the company a deep experience in developing and managing fundraising events and programs, with expertise in corporate and donor communications and relationships.

Most recently, Sara served as Development Manager at the Grant Park Music Festival. She managed key aspects of fundraising plans and leveraged corporate partnerships that resulted in significant cost savings.

Prior to joining the Grant Park Music Festival, Sara served as the Women’s Board Coordinator at Lincoln Park Zoo. As the Women’s Board Coordinator, Sara collaborated with board leadership to manage fundraising efforts, which resulted in $200,000 in Annual Fund contributions and $1.2 million in event revenue annually. Sara developed and managed project budgets while organizing fundraising events for the zoo, and was also an integral part of the Women’s Board marketing and communications efforts.

Sara started her career in the nonprofit sector at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as an Administrative Assistant, and was promoted to Project Associate. As a Project Associate at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Sara managed volunteer and donor events and was additionally responsible for content and collateral for gift acknowledgement and donor recognition.

Sara graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in music and French from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
