Katie Turcotte

Katie Turcotte, Vice President, brings to GG+A over 20 years of experience managing and developing fundraising teams. She offers an expertise in fundraising talent management and staff development, survey design and implementation, quantitative and qualitative analysis, nonprofit management, and more. Katie uses data-driven reporting to guide recommendations for decision making and has led organizational change efforts through increased philanthropic support for a variety of nonprofit clients.

Before joining GG+A, Katie served as the Deputy Vice President, Advancement and Alumni Relations at George Mason University. As a member of the senior leadership team, she led unit-based fundraising teams and supported the vice president in identifying and implementing strategies for securing and growing philanthropic support of university priorities. She instituted metrics for frontline fundraisers and worked closely with the provost and key faculty leaders to review the university’s gift acceptance policy and create recommendations for a revised policy.

Prior to this role, Katie was an Associate Vice President, Strategic Advancement Solutions at George Washington University. In this position, she supervised several of the institution’s teams, including Donor Relations, Events, Research and Relationship Management, Talent Management, Campaign Strategy and Operations, and Marketing and Communication. Prior to assuming this role, Katie oversaw nine areas of  GW’s fundraising, including Athletics, Family Philanthropy, GW Libraries and Academic Innovation, GW Hillel, the GW Museum and Textile Museum, Student Affairs, the College of Professional Studies, the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, and the School of Nursing.

In addition to her time working within higher education institutions, Katie also served as a fundraising consultant and researcher working with the Advisory Board Company and EAB. With the Advisory Board Company, she held the title of Senior Consultant and was responsible for overseeing research for the Philanthropy Leadership Council. In addition to leading studies on funding care transformation and fundraising talent management, she worked with the Council’s Academic Medical Centers, Children’s Hospitals, and System members, and regularly led onsite engagements with fundraising teams, physicians, and volunteers. As the Practice Manager of  EAB’s
Advancement Forum, Katie led the team of researchers for the firm’s higher education fundraising practice. There she led studies focused on working with academic partners and fundraiser talent management in addition to working with her team to deliver insights and best practices focused on annual giving, family philanthropy, benchmarking, and more.

Katie received her M.S. in Organizational Development from American University and B.S. in Organizational Leadership & Supervision from Purdue University. She additionally earned her Certificate of Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University.
