Biography

Lana Halima is a Project Associate at GG+A, where she plays a key role in supporting the firm’s Consulting Resources team in drafting presentations and reports, coordinating the activity of project teams, managing project workflows and deliverables, and more. Her expertise includes diversity, equity, and inclusion; marketing and business development research; outreach; and promotion.

Prior to joining GG+A, Lana was a Special Assistant to the CEO at Lever for Change, an affiliate nonprofit of the MacArthur Foundation. There, she recommended selection criteria for the largest philanthropic competition ever planned, leading to the expansion of eligible applicants. Lana also developed the outreach plan to promote the competition to thousands of organizations across the country and evaluated resulting project and outcome data. Previously, Lana served as a Business Development Associate at ParenTeach, Inc., a social impact initiative providing quality parenting education programs and resources. In addition to researching new business opportunities, she developed an EdTech sector database, conducted market and positioning research, and assessed business models for deploying curricula. As an intern at the Robin Hood Foundation, she co-developed the newest stage of a $50-million grant program, generated strategies to attract future grant candidates, and identified grant cycle best practices to improve success rates for future programs.

Lana completed her B.A. in government and economics at Harvard College. She is a member of the advisory board at Anew Family Shelter, a domestic violence shelter; and has served as an activist with the Massachusetts Menstrual Equity Coalition. As an undergraduate, Lana was the director of diversity, equity, and inclusion for the largest student-run event at Harvard, the Eleganza Charity Fashion Show. A member of the publicity board, she led business sponsor recruitment to donate 100% of the event’s proceeds to charitable organizations nationwide.
