Biography

Leslie Laird Kruhly, Vice President, has more than 35 years of Advancement experience in arts and culture and higher education where she participated in all areas of fundraising, volunteer and leadership management, membership stewardship, and communications.

As the Vice President and University Secretary at the University of Pennsylvania, she served as the University’s chief governance officer and provided strategic support to the President and Board Chair through leadership development, issues development and management, and relationship management. She worked closely with the University’s development program on its Making History and Power of Penn campaigns, directed elevating board diversity, and managed trustee engagement.

She held positions of Associate Director and Director of Development for the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology where she led development and membership activities. She began her Advancement career at the National YoungArts Foundation and served in several roles for its Miami, New York, and Philadelphia programs. She directed regional communications, fundraising, volunteers, public relations, and alumni relations.

Prior to her work in Advancement, Leslie held roles in Information Services for the Educational Testing Service, and as a reporter for the Philadelphia Bulletin.

Leslie earned a MS in Broadcasting from the Boston University School of Public Communications, and a B.A. in History from Vanderbilt University.
