Biography

Maia Murphey is a Proposal Writer at GG+A, where she serves a critical role within the Business Development team. Maia partners with the practice area leaders, consultants, clients, and other key colleagues within the firm to create tailored proposals to fit client needs. Her expertise includes writing, editing, and research. 

Prior to joining GG+A, Maia worked at Schreiber Government Relation Group in Madison, Wisconsin, where she assisted with various materials for the firm’s lobbyists and clients, such as compiling media monitoring research and attending legislative and agency hearings. Previously, she interned in Washington, D.C. for a health advocacy nonprofit where she led research on human rights and environmental policy issues, drafted editorials for research journals, and contributed to the organization’s marketing platforms. Additionally, Maia wrote and edited for a student magazine, Bell, where her content increased awareness for social issues happening both on and off campus. 

Maia completed her Bachelor of Science in Community and Nonprofit Leadership and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with minors in public policy, health policy, and criminal justice. As an undergraduate, Maia served as the Executive Philanthropy Chair for Wisconsin’s largest student-led nonprofit, Humorology. She oversaw all fundraising initiatives and community engagement activities, leading to a total donation of $508,000 for a local beneficiary by the end of the academic year.
