Biography

Sam Schlouch is Vice President of Consulting Resources at GG+A, where he leads and manages the consulting support team to optimize capacity; streamline workflows across client projects; and ensure clients receive consistent, reliable insights and deliverables on behalf of the firm. He brings more than 15 years of experience to the role, with expertise in major and principal gifts, planned giving, alumni engagement, strategic communications, media relations, and event planning.

Prior to joining GG+A, Sam was the Assistant Vice President of Individual Giving and Estate Gift Planning at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. There, he recruited and led a major gift and estate giving team and personally managed a donor portfolio accounting for more than $1.5 million in new commitments annually. Sam also planned and executed events and donor relations initiatives in support of Augustana’s $125-million comprehensive campaign, which exceeded its goal by raising more than $135 million. Having formerly served as a major gift officer at the College, Sam advised gift officers and implemented solicitation and stewardship strategies that contributed to a 60% growth in estate commitments.

Previously, Sam worked as the Senior Communication Director and as the Director of Public Relations and Arts Promotion at Augustana. In addition to serving as the College’s spokesperson and managing performances and major events, he collaborated with senior administrators on the Emergency Planning Task Force and Crisis Communications team and oversaw communications, branding, and social media strategy. Among his accomplishments, Sam was the recipient of the Jaeke Award for Service to Augustana College.

Earlier in his career, Sam was the Community Relations and Development Coordinator for ImpactLife, a regional blood center in Davenport, Iowa, and the Assistant Director of Operations for Morris and Raper Realtors in Atlanta. In each of these roles, he facilitated a variety of operational, financial, and communications projects serving the organizations, donors, and clients.

Sam received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration/Management from Augustana College. He is the former chair and founding board member of Lead(her), a mentorship program that provides career and community engagement for young professional women; and he is co-director of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) Leadership Lab.
