On December 22, 2017, President Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (H.R. 1) into law. (Read the full text of the bill here.) It is the most significant change to tax policy made in over three decades, and a number of provisions could greatly reduce the value of charitable giving. Ultimately, these provisions may impact many of our clients’ fundraising potential. We believe it is our responsibility to help them navigate this challenging new landscape.

Below are links to articles from popular and specialized news outlets, professional associations, advocacy organizations, and policy institutes. We have also included links to resources for additional information about how the new legislation impacts philanthropy.

We will be continuously updating this page with new materials as we learn more about how the law will affect philanthropy, now and in the years to come.
