Juan Garcia is the Senior Vice President and Practice Area Leader for Analytics and Advancement Services at GG+A, where he provides expertise to the firm’s Advancement Leadership Forum (ALF) and consults with clients in areas such as donor analytics, advancement services performance improvement, program data analysis, comparative data studies, strategic planning, and more. He brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm, in advancement operations strategy, campaign planning, business development, strategic planning and implementation, prospect development, and information management.
Prior to joining GG+A, Juan served as Assistant Vice President for Advancement Strategy and Campaign Director for the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin). In this role, he was an architect of the University’s $6-billion “What Starts Here” campaign, leading a team of more than 100 personnel, and setting best practices in operations, prospect development, solicitation strategy, and proposal pipeline management. Juan previously worked as Chief Strategy & Analytics Officer for UT Austin’s Texas Athletics, directing business strategy and campaigns, and identifying opportunities for improvement that increased revenues as well as donor contributions. Earlier in his career, he was Associate Vice President and Campaign Director at Wake Forest University, overseeing the $1-billion “Wake Will” campaign. Juan also led advancement operations as the CIO of the Arizona State University Foundation and served in a variety of leadership roles for UT Austin’s Office of Development.
Juan completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin, and his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Purdue University. He has facilitated a workshop on campaign planning for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and is a past presenter with the American Prospect Research Association (APRA).
