Henry Hillman Bequeaths $800 Million to Pittsburgh Charities

Henry Hillman, billionaire philanthropist who passed away in April, was a Pittsburgh native. Since his passing, his foundation announced that he bequeathed more than $800 million in gifts to 14 family philanthropies. These foundations primarily support initiatives in Southwest Pennsylvania. Over their lives Henry Hillman, and his wife Elsie, had given millions to projects around Pittsburgh aimed at improving people’s quality of life. Even in his passing, his legacy will live on through these last major gifts.
