Ashley Lomery is a Vice President in the higher education practice area at GG+A, where she plays a key role in supporting institutional clients with philanthropic management, including fundraising program assessments, feasibility studies, campaign planning, major gifts program planning and execution, and other strategic areas. She brings more than 25 years of experience to the firm, with expertise in major and principal gifts fundraising, annual giving, stewardship, strategic planning, fundraising coaching, and fundraising team management.
Prior to joining GG+A, Ashley served as the Senior Director of Development for the University of Arizona Foundation. At UArizona, Ashley helped provide oversight of the University’s $50 million 360 Initiative, which was focused on scholarship and student success priorities in collaboration with academic and administrative partners across the University. Along with supervising and coaching gift officers, Ashley managed her own portfolio of top prospects and personally secured more than $5 million in funds. She also developed print and digital collateral for the initiative to support frontline fundraisers in their solicitation efforts.
Previously, Ashley worked as the Chief Development Officer for the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, overseeing all fundraising efforts for the school and museum, and facilitating its ongoing $25-million capital campaign. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade at Temple University in various leadership roles, among them, Director of Development and Assistant Vice President of Development. Her accomplishments include raising a total of almost $35 million during her tenure and securing multiple gifts exceeding $1 million, one of which was a $10 million naming gift for the new university library. Moreover, Ashley managed a portfolio of up to 125 principal gift prospects and conceptualized and launched the University’s first centrally based major gifts team. As Associate Vice President of Individual Giving at California College of the Arts, Ashley served as a key member of the campaign planning team. And she additionally held advancement officer and coordinator positions at Art Center College of Design, and the Autry Museum of the American West.
Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in television and radio production from Ithaca College, with emphases in video and film production and a minor in fine art. She formerly served on the board of directors for The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, and as a member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Ithaca College Alumni Advisory Board. She continues to support various nonprofits, from The Clay Studio to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, as well as the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and her alma mater, Ithaca College. She currently serves on the board of directors of Alisa’s Angels, a Tucson-based organization that provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Arizona who are committed to bettering their communities.
