Managing leadership and staff transition remotely: A Colgate example

The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the traditional development work environment. That’s forced development leaders to develop innovative ways to build relationships with their team, organizational leaders, and volunteer leaders. Developing strategies to foster a strong work culture is important, particularly as institutions deal with leadership and staff transitions. In this webinar, Colgate University Vice President of Advancement Karl Clauss—who began his current role last August—discussed the challenges of acclimating to a new position in the midst of the pandemic, as well as the strategies and tactics he’s used to build a collaborative work culture. Karl also discussed how he is approaching recruiting and onboarding in this challenging environment.
